The first half of the play takes place in cold winter in Sicilian court of King Leontes. The harsh and frigid cold weather fits well into King’s court, where his ruthless treatment to others not only destroys his family but also brings worst circumstances for them. The second half, after sixteen years, occurs on Bohemian landscape, a festive site full of joyful and youthful activities. This is the place where Perdita’s and Florizel’s love blossoms.
