Shockvalue means to shocks the readers through horrible deaths of certain characters such as children and women such as in the Holocaust literature. However, excessive use of shockvalue, other than naturally occurring in the story-line, causes readers feel disgusted or even discomforted. Therefore, shockvalue must be used in the story in such a way that it should seem occur naturally.
