Oxford Advanced Learner’s defines it as “Open to more than one interpretation; not having one obvious meaning” that means one person interpret in one way and other in an other way. For example, “This is an ambiguous phrase.”

If you take it from Oxford Dictionary, then in text citation is (Oxford) only. In case of some other book, it would be (author name, year).
