Can you tell me something about setting of Golding’s “Lord of Flies”? I mean where it took place and its importance?

Yes, sure. Lord of Flies has taken place in an unknown uninhabited island of Pacific Ocean, probably during 1950s in a fictional atomic war. We do not see much about this island until the boys go and explore, so we too feel the same thrill of discovery. Finally, the boys could see the whole beautiful island and started taking control of it. They take advantage of mountains, platforms and reefs and then impose their system on it. By the end of the narrative, the island does not remain a deserted place, but a densely populated dystopia.
