What is this device/technique/name… two nouns become one

What is the name for a hyphenated word that includes two nouns to create a new noun? It’s usually used to emphasise a different element of the noun.

Eg,

using “self-slaughter” as opposed to “suicide”. Self + slaughter (two nouns) = self-slaughter, with a new meaning

Thanks

This is called “compound noun” that join to make a single noun, where words are hyphenated or go separately to make a new word and new meaning.
