Orlando resents maltreatment at the hands of his brother as Oliver ignores bequests that his father has made. Sir Rowland de Boys, their father has left a thousand crowns to Orlando and requested Oliver to provide education for his younger brother as a gentleman, however Oliver did not give him this chance and kept him “rustically at home,” and treats him badly worse than horses or other pet animals.
