Hey guys, struggling a bit with my analysis of one of Emily Dickenson’s poems. Stanza 1 and 3 in Twas warm — at first — like Us, is what I find hard.
Twas warm — at first — like Us —
Until there crept upon
A Chill — like frost upon a Glass —
Till all the scene — be gone.
It straightened — that was all —
It crowded Cold to Cold —
It multiplied indifference —
As Pride were all it could

We think it is not a problem. Just see what is this “Twas…” and if she is likeing “this” to “Us” it means that she is using a simile as well as personification. Now read it with this in mind.
